Unbuttoned – Time for a warm up!

July 28, 2014 in Christian Grey, Colored Pencils, Sketch, Sketchbook

Gosh, it feels like the last update has been AGES ago!
Well, I’m back now – with a ton of ideas and some nice new illustrations! :D

Please note that I’m only referring to the books and draw the characters how I imagine them.
But I will draw E.L. James, Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and all the others of the cast though, in another little project.

Currently I’m working on an illustration of Christian as a little warm up. It features a piece of clothing which became quite liked: his jeans!
So imagine (your favorite) Christian entering the room in a playful mood, closing the door behind him. What do you think about it? Write it in the comments, if you’d like.

Have a look at the progress so far:

The Truth Is Out There….

September 3, 2013 in Christian Grey, General, Portrait

Soooo, now all the rumors have come to an end, Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson will be Anastasia Steele in the FSOG movie..!

Looking at some pictures of Mr. Hunnam made me raise an eyebrow because I realized that I actually hadn’t been that wrong with my drawing of Christian.. o.Ô
What do you think..?

Now excuse me please while I stare at this picture:

Study: Wet, wet, wet!

May 14, 2013 in Christian Grey, Copic, Sketch, Sketchbook

Welcome to the wonderful world of Christian Grey’s anatomy! :D

Another sketch done with Copic Markers. I think it was after a shower scene in book two (I don’t remember it well), I thought about Christian’s body and wanted to draw a study of him, to get a feeling for the shapes.
I’ve got a big sketchbook titled “The Book Of Shades”, in which I want to draw all those studies and sketches and this is the very first sketch I drew in it.

As always, I started with some rough outlines and light colors:

The paper in that sketchbook is quite thick and drawing on it with Copics is fun. Although it might be a  bit expensive, because of the color drain. But anyway, I went on with drawing some shadows to define the muscles. Christan Grey’s body is described as quite muscular, I hope I’ve done him justice.

I added the base hair color, darkened the shadows and added a little bit of facial hair in the next step:

After that I added more layers of skin tones, blended the shadows to make them look smoother and drew the hair:

To give that pose (slightly a bit of) a sense I added some water falling onto Christian.
To be honest I didn’t think about where his right arm is or what it looks like. What is he doing there??! Is he touching himself?! :o

ASGDLFGLRDLAS..!! I didn’t notice that until someone asked me about it (thanks for that, mate..!).. LOL
Well, I didn’t mean to make it look like this, it just happened! Ha ha! :D

But maybe it shows him right after all the trouble in book 3, taking finally a shower, washing all worries away..?
He looks ok, I think. What’s your opinion..?
